Review a processing relationship with useful evidence.
A useful review ends with a specific change, an owner and a way to observe whether the change helped.
Start with the article →Review against the agreed work.
Start with the scope and role map both teams use. If the work has changed, fix the agreement before judging performance. Do not assess a provider against a task never agreed. Do not let an agreed duty disappear because an unusual case became routine.
Choose ordinary handoffs and difficult ones. Leave borrower details out of review notes unless the review uses an approved system with proper access. Record what was expected, what happened and the evidence for each finding.
Separate a recurring pattern from an isolated event.
Take a fictional case where people keep chasing items that have arrived. Check the record before blaming poor contact. Was receipt logged? Could the next person see it? Did the status separate receipt from acceptance? The fix may be a clearer record, not another meeting.
Separate work waiting on the brokerage, processor, third party or lender decision. This helps show where a change is possible. It does not shift duties or make every delay the provider’s fault. Keep reasons marked as unclear until those involved can verify them.
- Observation supported by a working record
- Likely process gap and competing explanation
- Proposed change within the agreed scope
- Owner and next review point
Change a specific part of the process.
Choose a small change, such as a clearer acceptance note or a named backup. State what could improve and what could get worse. Check the next similar handoffs before expanding the change. One good example is useful feedback, but it does not prove overall performance.
Fannie Mae’s quality-control resources describe lender programs within its framework. This review is a discussion of everyday work. It does not replace required lender quality control or an independent compliance assessment. Keep those formal duties with the right people.
Put it to work.
Turn a verified recurring problem into a limited change that the responsible people can review together.
