Build a useful processing training library.
Make the next useful answer easier to find.
Start with the article →Organize around recurring questions.
Start with a new team member’s questions. Where is the working record? Who accepts a handoff? Who follows up? When does a question go to the lender? Organize by those needs, rather than by who made the training material.
Give each topic a short explanation, fictional example and link to the current internal procedure. Keep borrower records out of general training. If an example relies on a specific program or lender instruction, label that scope. Do not present it as a rule for all files.
Separate internal practice from external authority.
Agency learning resources can help people build skills. They do not assign roles within your business. Where useful, link to the specific Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac resource. Explain why the learner should read it.
A fictional lesson could ask how receipt differs from lender acceptance. The internal procedure should show where that status is recorded and who decides. A video of button clicks alone cannot answer the role question.
- The question the lesson answers.
- The role and workflow it applies to.
- A fictional practice example.
- The maintained internal procedure.
- An original external reference when needed.
- An owner for corrections and review.
Use questions to maintain the library.
Ask learners where they got stuck and whether they could find the next step unaided. Repeated confusion points to an explanation or process that needs review. Finishing a lesson alone does not prove skill or authority to do every task.
Check links and old examples when the process changes. Separate general awareness material from approved work instructions. The worksheet can help check outside sources before adding them to a lesson. It does not certify training or meet a professional education requirement.
Put it to work.
Teach a decision and its boundaries, then show where the current procedure lives.
Check a mortgage information source →Sources & scope
